The official opening of Ankara Logistics Base, the first operational logistics base in Turkey, was made on 15 October 2010. Erhan Gündüz, the Chairman of Ankara Logistics Base evaluates the realization of the first phase as follows: “It has been a good start in terms of both technical and operational integrity. Our actual target about the rest of the process is to get share from international and Anatolian logistics pie. Our quests about what we can do further and how we can improve the market share of our colleagues located at the Base are continuing.”
Erhan Gündüz explains, “Ankara TIR Revenue Office, Ankara Directorate for Protection, Ankara Central Laboratory and Payroll Department are located in our plants. In addition, Ankara Chamber of Industry, Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Turkish Standards Institution, banks and other related public and institutional representation offices are also situated in the Base.” Gündüz states that they are going ahead with the planning of the second phase and they aim to concentrate on specialized warehouses in line with the demands.
