Being one of the leading international transport companies located in the Mediterranean region of Turkey, Okura enjoyed 100 percent growth in 2010, in respect to working power and turnover. The company realized the same increase rate in the first quarter of 2011.
Cihan Okur, the General Manager of Okura Transport states, “To such an improvement, in addition to global briskness, the change in our viewpoint also contributed a lot.” Stating that they purchased 20 trucks and 20 semi-trailers in 2010, Okur points out that they have expanded their fleet and they will continue group purchases also in 2011.
Okur says, in 2011 transport operations to Middle East countries will be more than to Europe and informs that Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan as well as Italy are the new destinations where they started new operations.
Emphasizing that their company is specialized in project cargo transport, Cihan Okur lists some of their completed operations as follows: “Between May 2003-2007, we realized the transport of 20 thousand metric tons of aid cargo from Mersin, Iskenderun and Kayseri to various destinations of Iraq as the authorized transporter and subcontractor of the United Nations. We also successfully carried out the operation of transporting 10 thousand tons of project cargo belonging to the American army from Iskenderun Port and Adana Airport to Baiji in Iraq. >>> |
